The iron paddle steamer ‘Solway’ was built by Ramage & Ferguson of Leith in 1886. Her first port of register was Carlisle. She was Grimsby registered from 1897 and was used for Humber excursions to Spurn Head etc.

In the 1920s, the ‘Solway’ was working out of Jarrow and was sold for breaking up in 1931.
