An original photographic postcard by an unknown photographer/publisher. Not posted. Requires a 1/2 pence stamp (pre-WW1). Probably the only known original example of this photo.
The visible premises are:
Dunns Boot Stores (Frederick Dunn & Sons), boot & shoe dealers, 44 High Street Joseph Shephard, glass & china dealer, 42 High Street Probably; Mrs. Mary A. Bentley, apartments, 38 High Street Cleethorpes Picture Framing Co. and ‘useful presents’, buckets & spades, postcards shop etc. This is where ‘The Establishment’ nightclub (formerly ‘Bootlegger’) is today.
Barclays Bank used to be at 40/42 High Street. The bank closed in 2019.
