Isinglass Co. Ltd., Grimsby is moulded into the base of the bottle.
The British Isinglass Co. Ltd. was located in Hope Street. They produced ‘liquid fish glues’.
isinglass /ˈʌɪzɪŋˌɡlɑːs/ noun a kind of gelatin obtained from fish, especially sturgeon, and used in making jellies, glue, etc. and for fining real ale.
Isinglass in beer is not acceptable to vegetarians and vegans.
Isinglass can be used for preserving whole eggs for up to a year. The method was regularly used during WW2.
