The postcard was sent from Leeds by Emma on 6th August 1913. The recipient was Miss Nora Simpson, 2 Branksome Place, Queens Road, Leeds. (The property still exists.) Emma had a good time. Presumably she posted the card after returning from Cleethorpes.

The ‘WI’ on the wall may have been the start of a sign for Wilkin & Chapman, solicitors, who were further down the road on the left (No. 15). This large advertisement would have been easily visible from Alexandra Road.

The two houses on the right are now The Burlington Hotel. The Dovedale Hotel & Restaurant is a little further down the road, on the right.
