An original, unposted, real photographic postcard by H. G. Glen & Co., 15 Boar Lane Chambers, Leeds “Glenco Series”. (The company appears to have changed address to 20 Basinghall Street, Leeds by 1908.)

Frederick Dunn & Sons, boot and shoe warehouse is in Bull Ring Lane.

Mason & Sons, auctioneers, appraisers and land agents is in Old Market Place. It also says valuers in the window. Note that it also says ‘Market Chambers’ on the wall. On the corner, below, is J. M. Tierney Ltd., cigar manufacturers and tobacconists, wholesale and retail at 19 Old Market Place.

Maypole Dairy Co. Ltd., butter factors is next at 18 Old Market Place.

Arthur Cook, ironmonger, is next at 17 Old Market Place.

Charles Dewing, pharmacist and photographic chemist is next at 16a Old Market Place.

Alfred Stephenson, grocer, Flottergate is next with The Ship Hotel, then Maude Street and the Primitive Methodist Chapel and Red Hill beyond.

From the right we have Charles Morton & Sons, grocers, jam, marmalade, and pickle and sauce makers at 11 & 12 Old Market Place. The same business was later known as Chambers.

Albert Gait, bookseller, stationer, printer and lithographer are next at 13 Old Market Place. The Globe Inn (Hewitt Bros. Ltd. and Frederick Osborne) and William James Atkinson, the “Bon Ton”, hosier and outfitter lead to the junction of Victoria Street and Flottergate.
