‘Romantic’ GY.989 was built by Earle’s Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. Ltd., Hull in 1898. She was owned by the Grimsby Steam Fishing Co. Ltd.

In 1917, ‘Romantic’ was sunk off the Faroe Islands by gunfire from a German submarine.
