Watmough & Son Ltd. biscuit tin c1940.

Grimsby

A original biscuit tin from Great Coates, Grimsby.

Established 1835. By the outbreak of WWII the company was making 200 tons of sweet biscuits a week. The wartime environment damaged the business and it was sold in 1948 to Scribbans-Kemp which became Kemps Biscuits Ltd. In 1972 Kemps was bought by United Biscuits and biscuit making continued in Great Coates until 1995.
