Cold war era; Lightning crash near Grimsby 1968.

R.A.F. English Electric Lightning F6 XS924 crashed near Grimsby on 29th April 1968. The crash occurred shortly after the aircraft had taken off from R.A.F. Binbrook. The pilot was sadly killed.
It’s said that the lorry taking the wreckage to the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB), Farnborough also crashed.
