The Abbey, Grimsby c1890s.

The home of the Wintringham family who ran a large lumber yard and solicitors firm, Wilkin & Chapman (which still exists).

The Abbey was demolished in the 1967. The location is now Abbotsway and Abbey Road, Abbey Park Road, Abbey Drive East and Abbey Drive West are nearby.

Wellow Abbey stood on this site before this Victorian building. The Abbey was dissolved in 1536.

American servicemen were based at the Abbey during WW2. After D-Day, the RAF took it over.
