Grimsby Amateurs Cricket Club 1904.
An original photographic postcard by Frank Overton, photographer, 136 Beverley Road, Hull.
A cropped version of this photograph appears in “Around Grimsby in Old Photographs” collected by Janet Tierney 1992. Janet says that this club was consistently successful in the pre-First World War period.
It would be interesting to know something about the gentlemen on this photo.

Note the giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) in the background. It was often planted in gardens at the time. It’s toxic and cultivation of the plant is now regulated to some degree.
