Findus International Ltd. of Sweden designed the ‘Polar Reefer’. It was the first ship built exclusively for carrying pallet loads of frozen foods. The ship’s capacity was 550 tons.

Findus is a frozen food brand which was first sold in Sweden in 1945. The Swiss food company Nestlé owned the Findus brand from 1962 to 2000.
