J. S. Doig Ltd. was founded in Grimsby in 1904 by John Salmon Doig. The company was purchased by the Ross Group in January 1964. The yard was subsequently used only for ship repairs and engineering projects (trawler lengthening etc.) until its closure in 1970’s.
