An original retouched photographic postcard by Northern Series, Grimsby.

The postcard was sent from Cleethorpes on 20th July 1910 by Ernest, c/o Mrs Stow, Mill Road Cleethorpes. The recipient was Mr W. Broughton, 25 Middleton Street, Old Radford, Nottingham.

Ernest wrote, “Dear Dad, I landed here safe, but that’s all I can say. Had one tyre down at Newark and then the other went at Laceby about 6 miles from Grimsby. Left bike at Grimsby and trammed it here. Will you please send my brooch off my brown jacket. It will come in an envelope. It was hot till I reached Market Rasen when the wind started dead in front. Send my brooch as soon as possible. From your loving son, Ernest.”
