From an original pictorial postcard by an unknown publisher. The postcard was printed in Germany.
Opening as the Alexandra Hall Theatre in 1896, the building became the Empire Theatre shortly afterwards in 1900. After becoming the Empire Cinema from 1913 until WW2 it reopened as a theatre. A number of well-known stars appeared there. Today the building is an amusement centre featuring laser games.
The postcard was posted from Louth on 25th September 1907 by Alice. The recipient was Miss E. Dowse, 55 Prospect Street, East Kirkby, Nottingham.
