LNER, Grimsby Town Station, 1932: Top-link driver Simon Dann (standing in gangway) in charge of the 12:58pm Grimsby-Nottingham-Leicester passenger and fish express awaiting the right-away.

G. C. Robinson 4-cyl, 6’9″ 4-6-0 of the B3 “Lord Faringdon” Class, No. 6167.

This loco, built 1920, originally bore the name “Lloyd George” but this was subsequently removed and 6167 remained nameless.

Fitted with poppet valves and caprotti rotary-cam gear, 1937.

Simon Joseph Dann was born in 1868. He was a member of the Amalgamated Society Of Railway Servants, Union Branch: Grimsby. He had retired by 1939 and was living at 4 Earl Street. Simon died on 19th January 1940, aged 72, and is buried in Scartho Road Cemetery.
