An original photograph.
Ross House was opened on 25th October 1965 by Sir Keith Joseph M.P. It was built as the headquarters of the Grimsby-based Ross Group food company. There are eleven-storeys and the building is 139 feet tall. It cost £500,000 and was the tallest office block in Lincolnshire.
The architects were Messrs. Howard V. Lobb and Partners Ltd. and the main contractors were Myton Ltd. of the Taylor Woodrow Group. The building is curved like a huge trawler bridge symbolising Ross Group’s extensive interests in the fishing industry.
Ross House is now the centre of operations for Young’s Seafood.
