The Click’em Inn, near Swinhope; WW2 interest.

This pub was once ‘officially’ known as The Talbot Inn. (It’s still possible to see where the Talbot dog sign once hung above the front door.) For many years, before the name change, it was ‘unofficially’ known as the Click’em Inn. The pub’s unusual name comes from times when sheep, in the field opposite, were counted by passing them through a ‘clicking gate’.

Apparently, this was the favoured ‘watering hole’ of the RAAF when No. 460 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force was based at nearby RAF Binbrook during WW2. Some can remember the pub being left almost untouched from those days until the 1970s. Does anyone have any additional information, photographs or anecdotes about this pub in WWII times?
