‘Cam Puma’ 1993.
An image from the original negative. The photo was taken at Grimsby on 12th June 1993. ‘Cam Puma’ was a Standby Safety Vessel working out of Grimsby.
‘Cam Puma’ was built in 1966 at Ulstein, Norway and launched as ‘Stalegg’. Her other names were ‘Nyegg’ and ‘Sea Guard’. After ‘Cam Puma’, she was named ‘Viking Puma’ (1966).
Unlike the case with other ‘cat boats’, ‘Cam Puma’ was not converted from the ‘Ross Puma’ GY.646. She was wrecked in heavy weather near Little Rackwick, Hoy on 1st April 1968. All the crew were rescued.
