The post office was just to the Waltham side of the entrance to Springfield Road (then Carr Lane), about where the zebra crossing is today. The chapel in Springfield Road, which still stands, was to the left of the post office in this view. The entrance to Carr Lane (Springfield Road) can just be seen here.
