Wartime chocolate; Fry’s Chocolate Sandwich c1941.
An original, tuppenny chocolate bar of a type that was certainly available for sale in 1941 and perhaps before. Later in the war, economy wartime wrappings were used.
The bar is in remarkable condition. The strong aroma is ‘interesting’ but not unpleasant. Until relatively recently, the bar was tightly sealed in a ‘Fry’s Emergency Storage Ration’ tin with 23 other bars. This explains the lack of deterioration.
