A studio photo by Ernest Freeman of 456 Cleethorpe Road, Grimsby. Ernest Walter Freeman was born in Torquay in 1880. He married Martha (Monether?) in Leicester in 1903. He served in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment in WW1 and then transferred to the RAF as a photographer. He was discharged in April 2020.

Ernest Walter Freeman described himself as a journeyman photographic printer in 1939. He died in Cleethorpes in 1942, aged 63.

Lily Anna Palmer Beckett (born in Grimsby in 1909) and Doris Ellen Palmer Beckett (born in Grimsby in 1913) were children of Harry Palmer Beckett and Clara Ellen Beckett (née Lingard, then married Alfred Thomas Devine). They were two of ten children. Their father was a painter. The family lived at 22 Freeston St., New Cleethorpes.

Lily and Doris were first cousins of Charles Robinson Beckett who was a keen amateur photographer. Some of his work is on this website.
