Very old, 1901 Victorian postcard; The Park gates, Grimsby.
A very old, original postcard from the days when the message was written on the front, below the picture. Until 1902, only the address was written on the back. The stamp is a Queen Victoria Penny Lilac.
The postcard was posted in Grimsby on 4th March 1901. Ernst was sending his greetings to Fräulein Marie Zeplien of Wustrow, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania). Wustrow is on the coast and is a small fishing port.
Note: Details of the Zeplien family of Wustrow can be found on the internet.
